What is Runbook?

Runbook is a web service for creating manuals and procedure documents. The documents you create can be used internally within your company or published on the internet.

One of its major features is the ability to create not only ordinary manuals but also documents that accept user input (called workflows). With the workflow feature, you can—for example—use a business procedure document directly as a report, or automate onboarding for new employees, broadening the ways Runbook can be put to use.

Runbook's Main Features

Creating and Editing Documents

You can edit documents through intuitive operations. Change history is preserved, so you can revert to a previous version at any time. To organize a growing collection of documents, you can group them using folders and categories, and a robust search function is also available.

Publishing Your Documents on the Internet

You can publish documents such as external-facing manuals and application forms on the internet. Custom domains and custom designs are supported as well.

Workflows

You can create interactive documents (workflows) that branch between pages depending on what the user enters. By configuring actions—such as sending an email at any point in the workflow or sending data to a third-party SaaS—a wide variety of data integrations become possible.

Security

In addition to setting access permissions on a per-user basis, Runbook provides features such as IP address-based access restrictions and audit logs.
